Need a roster?  Contact Charlene B. who will mail you one -- email or regular mail.

Is your information up to date?  Please keep your information current by informing Charlene B. of any change in email or regular mailing address, landline phone change, and cell phone addition or change.

Would you like to keep our club thriving by volunteering?  Many of our members contribute their time, talents and efforts to help our club meet its goal of providing interesting activities in an atmosphere of congeniality.  We are a club where many people take leadership and supporting roles, and these commitments, small and large, are also a means of interacting with others in a meaningful way.  Contact your officers, activity leaders (always need backups and ideas), and chairpersons to begin a volunteer role.  Volunteering is the best way to get to know your organization and its members.

Do you have a home or party room to offer for activities?  Meeting places, including homes, are needed for board meetings, social and art parties, general meetings, potluck dinners, etc. Contact Joanne P.  Please indicate capacity and special considerations.

Would you like to park free at choice beach parking lots? A Senior Pass is available for people over 62. Upon request you will receive a sticker for your car windshield that never expires and allows you free parking Monday through Friday (holidays excepted) at many beach lots from Malibu to the South Bay.  This will be sent to you with a list of lots to use if you send your request along with a photocopy of your car registration and drivers license to Beaches and Harbors, 13837 Fiji Way, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292. The direct phone number there is 310-305-9503.
Are you supporting the Unrecables by participating in Ralph?s Community Participation Program?  Helen and Chuck have been dedicated volunteers with the Unrecables Ski Club for several years. Helen writes (paraphrased), Thanks so much, OHGLA, for your past support to the Unrecables (Unlimited Recreational Ability), the LA Chapter of Disabled Sports USA. We continue to offer skiing to adults with all kinds of disabilities, i.e., visually impaired, deaf, amputees, brain-injured, para- and quadra-plegics, stroke, and cerebral palsy afflicted, etc. Ralphs has been generous. When you shop with your Ralphs card, you receive the discounted price and Ralphs sends 4% of your purchase amount IF you are registered to our nonprofit Unrecables club. These funds are used to purchase needed equipment, insurance and pay for other expenses.  Ralphs has changed their program and is requiring everyone to re-register.  Your rewards number is on each receipt. To sign up, you will need your plastic Ralphs Rewards card (availble from stores) and you will need to register online.  Follow these steps for online registration:
1.   Log onto www.ralphs.com
2.   On the upper right corner of the screen, register for the rewards program
3.   Once registered, log in
4.   After logging in, click on "Community Participation Program" on the left side of the screen
5.   Enter your Rewards Card number from the back of your plastic Ralphs Reward Card
6.   Fill out anything that is needed to take the next step, and go on
7.   In the organizations option, enter "disabled sports" and click on "Search"
8.   A screen that opens that shows two organizations.  Select the one in Los Angeles with the number 80831
9.   Verify that the Unrecables is connected to your account, and you will have completed all steps.

Would you like to reach your to OHGLA Website and Photo Album with fewer clicks?
With just one doubleclick from your computer’s opening screen you can immediately go to the club website or photo album IF you have placed a shortcut on your desktop (opening screen).  How to do this?

For PC Users:
Find a vacant place on your desktop screen and right click).  A box with several choices opens. Place your cursor on New. Then another list opens.  Note the shortcut option and click on it. This opens an address window where you can type in
www.overthehillganglosangeles.org
for the OHGLA website. Once you have entered the internet address, click on Next, which opens another window where you can type in a user-friendly name such as OHGLA Website.  This ends the process, so close out of any open box and examine your desktop icons.  You should see an icon with the user-friendly name you specified.  Doubleclick on the icon and the club website should open.  Repeat this process to add a desktop shortcut to the club photo album.  Use the address this time of www.flickr.com/photos/ohglaphotos/sets

For Apple/Mac Users:  Thank you to Charlene for providing these instructions.  Making a desktop shortcut (or an "alias" in Macspeak) to the OHGLA website and Flikr, the OHGLA online photo album, is easy on the Mac.  Simply go to the Internet and type in www.overthehillganglosangeles.org to open the site.  You will see a small icon just to the left of where you typed in the address (a ball or other symbol).  Just grab the icon with your mouse and drag it to your desktop.  Then from your desktop you should be able to double click on the icon and the site will open.  Do the same for the Flickr photo album at www.flickr.com/photos/ohglaphotos/sets

Would you like to purchase OHGLA Logo-Imprinted Products?  Doubleclick on the link and check out a variety of OHGLA logo products including a mug, doggie t-shirt, several people t-shirts, golf shirt, sweatshirt, bar-b-que apron, hat, mouse pad, coaster, etc. All products are priced at cost -- no OHGLA profit margin added!  www.cafepress.com/ohgla

How about that outdoor enthusiast you know?  Or meet on the chairlift, hiking trail, bike path, on the boat to Catalina for kayaking, or in a parking lot where we gather for an activity?  You may start the process that helps a new member join by handing someone a card with our contact information.  They can readily take the next step to get more information from Jacky, OHGLA Membership, or they may visit our website and download a membership application.  Cards are available from activity leaders, and Marilyn T. will send you a packet of cards upon request.
Would you like to download a photo from OHGLA's album flickr.com?
1.  Go to
www.flickr.com/photos/ohglaphotos/sets. This will show you photos in sets by date and activity, as well as by photographer (you may find more than one set for an activity).

2.  Click on the set of interest to open it. Then click or double-click on a photo in the set you would like to download. This will enlarge the photo from the initial tiny size shown.

For PC Users:
3.  Once you have a larger version of the photo, right click (if you hae a PC). Then select "Save picture as."

4.  A dialog box opens. Note the "Save in" toward the top of the dialog box. If is says "My Pictures" and that is where you want to store the newly downloaded photo, leave as is. However, if you want to store the photo on a flash drive or "My Documents" simply click the arrow to the right of the Save in window and select "My Documents" or another storage option.

5.  Toward the bottom of the dialog box look for the file name option, which will contain a photo number. You may rename the photo here or keep the numerical name.  Then click "Save." Your photo will download and will be available in the storage location you have specified. From there you can email it, burn it onto a CD to get prints made, print it with your photo printer, or use it as your desktop image.

For Mac Users (Courtesy of Charlene B.):
Follow instructions 1 and 2. Once you have a larger version of the photo, the easy way to download it is to select it by holding down your mouse and drag it to your desktop, where you can re-title it if you wish and put it in any folder you want to save it in. An alternate method is to hold down the control key while you select the photo with your mouse, and a window will open allowing you to choose the option "Save Image As" and specify filename and storage location.
